Beast Master Hunter: When most people think of hunters, they think of beast masters: hunters whose connection with their pet is so strong that the two make an extremely deadly combination in battle. Like rangers, beast masters can excel at either melee or ranged combat, but unlike rangers, beast masters would be nothing without their pets. The beast master and his pet are two halves of the same whole. The two commune with one another and communicate on a level outsiders cannot understand. The two are fiercely loyal to one another, one ever willing to die for the other’s well-being. Any race with a natural affinity for nature and inherent ferocity would make an excellent beast master, though Orcs are the most common.
![http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070113140751/wowwiki/images/5/5b/Ability_hunter_zenarchery.png](http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070113140751/wowwiki/images/5/5b/Ability_hunter_zenarchery.png)
Marksman Hunter: Marksman Hunters differ from rangers in that they specialize in one particular aspect rather than being jacks of all trades, and typically will forgo the use of pets. Marksmen are precisely what the name would imply: foes with keen eye sight and deadly accuracy with ranged weapons. Marksmen will shun melee combat, always seeking to stay a good distance from their foes. Marksmen see their bows, guns or crossbows as extensions of themselves, similar to how beast masters view their pets. Most commonly, elves, dwarves or humans have the physiology and temperaments most suitable to marksmanship, though any race which can foster keen eyes and a steady hand could be adequate marksmen.

Survivalist Hunter(Ranger): Rangers can vary in style and focus, but they’re primarily known as deadly foes with keen tracking abilities. Rangers can excel at either ranged or melee combat, and may or may not use pets. Rangers will often utilize their tracking and trapping abilities to devastating affect. Elves are the most common racial choice for rangers, since the elven races are known for grace, speed and subtlety–all key traits for rangers. Rangers also make excellent scouts for larger war parties.

Affliction Warlock: Cold, calculating, and methodical, when plating a affliction lock, look at your enemies ( and friends) for weakness, and how you can exploit it. Affliction locks tend to be at the opposite end of destruction locks, they tend to be the ones betraying, cheating and murdering. Affliction locks don't need to see instant results to know they've won. Sure that warrior is chopping up your allies, his body is about to rot into a heap of compost any second now
example quote: "Pathetic, simply pathetic"
Some warlocks have a morbid fascination in the workings of living creatures. Frighteningly enough, many of these have found a way to apply these studies to their own spells. The magical diseases and curses of affliction-focused warlocks tend to be much more devastating and last longer than those of other warlocks. Many of these warlocks also have a particular fascination with draining the life or mental energies of their opponents and taking it into their own bodies, and are capable of doing this with frightening efficiency.
![http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070113161145/wowwiki/images/5/58/Spell_shadow_demonictactics.png](http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070113161145/wowwiki/images/5/58/Spell_shadow_demonictactics.png)
Demonology Warlock: Dark, greedy, and power hungery, when playing a demon master look at your enemies ( and friends) as pieces on a giant chess board, ready to be sacrificed for your benefit. As a summoner, you probably did something really bad, selling of your soul, murder, treason, something to get the twisting nethers attention. you also tend to have a sense of value, to them everything, including the souls of everyone around them
example quote: "Your soul is tasty"
Demonologists focus their studies on demons and demonic energies. They are able to apply this specialized knowledge to their demonic allies, making them much more skilled at their respective tasks. Some warlocks are even able to learn new spells or tricks to use with the demons. Many believe it is only a matter of time before the demons begin to learn how to return the favor to those who seek to enslave them....
![http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20060928020608/wowwiki/images/b/bb/Spell_fire_volcano.png](http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20060928020608/wowwiki/images/b/bb/Spell_fire_volcano.png)
Destruction Warlock: They tend to by pyros, anarcists, or just crazy, when playing a destruction lock feel free to shout out to your opponents (or allies) just how much being set on fire is going to hurt. destruction locks also tend to have an angery background: were you betrayed ? cheated ? murderd ? ( only in the case of undead) destruction locks tend to rush into things, and why not, if anyone challenges them they can turn them ino a pile of ash.
example quote: "Mwahahaha Burn baby BURN !"
While mages are capable of using elemental fire to burn opponents, warlocks summon fires from the Twisting Nether itself. Those focused on destruction are capable of making these unholy fires burn longer and hotter, and even have discerned ways to entwine these flames with dark shadow magic for even more devastation. Many destruction-based warlocks tend to have a fascination for fire, and sometimes become pyromaniacs.

Holy Paladin: The more compassionate of the three paladin archetypes. These paladins use their faith to restore and invigorate allies. Typically, these paladins don't see themselves as bringers of justice, as their peers may, but rather conduits of the light.
![http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070113163923/wowwiki/images/2/28/Spell_holy_ardentdefender.png](http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070113163923/wowwiki/images/2/28/Spell_holy_ardentdefender.png)
Protection Paladin: Don't bother trying to kill a Protection paladin unless you have all day. These masters of the shield and of self-preservation know every possible trick to prolong a battle to their advantage: stuns, protective spells, and retaliatory strikes. Guided by the virtue of Tenacity, these warriors will drag a battle out all day if they must, focusing on defense and survival above all. They *will* outlast you.

Retribution Paladin: It's a dirty job, but someone has to do it. Retribution paladins have a strange take on the virtue of Respect, namely that respecting your friends means avenging them, and respecting your enemies means killing them quickly. When a Retribution paladin comes for you, all ablaze with the power of the Light and with his two-handed hammer held high, it's going to hurt, badly. But not for long.

Assassination Rogue: Assassins take the art of killing for money to a new level. There are mercenary killers, then there are the Assassins. Assassins take pleasure into their assassination of their mark, making them suffer horribly through specially made poisons or cutting their mark open to watch them suffer. A warrior may know ten ways to kill you with his sword, but the assassin knows how to kill you twenty ways with their hand, fifteen with their foot, and ten with the table inside the room.

Combat Rogue: The combat savvy rogues treat a melee as a dance. Side-stepping elegantly to dodge the blade strike or flipping backward to avoid the blood-crazed swings of the enemy. Then, when the enemy is tired or recovering from their last attack, the rogue will send a well aimed dagger or blade into the targets artery or vital organ to quickly finish them. They are quick and aim to kill quickly, not one to 'play' with their enemy as much as assassins. These rogues find quick kills better then wasting their time.

Subtlety Rogue: Espionage, spying, theft, stealth. All go hand and hand with a subtlety savvy rogue. They are one with their surroundings. May it be the surrounding forest, the shadow in the alley, the crowd in the street, that new recruit within the bandit fold. They are experts at blending in, not getting caught. They have entries and exits thought out in more ways then one. They can sneak into an enemy camp, posing as a soldier of that group may they be the same race or sneak through the shadows, roof tops, or hide within a crate of new supplies to a secret hide-out. They are experts of being unseen, unnoticed... none existent.

Arms Warrior: Some warriors don't focus on protecting their allies; instead they charge into the fray, and with deft flicks of their powerful wrists are able to decapitate their enemies. If you want to be the fast-attacking champions, then arms is the specialization for you. They use their rage in controlled bursts for devastating strikes against those that wish to do them harm. A tactical warrior. They have names for all their weapons.

Fury Warrior(Barbarian): This one is a beast. Their rage envelopes them, sometimes at inopportune times, and makes them powerful. When your axe hits him, he gets stronger, his fury unbridled, his wits having fled from his skull. His vision is crimson like blood, his teeth gnash insanely, his strength is unimaginable; he can carry two two-handed weapons, and jump impossibly far and high. Shows up half naked, hammered drunk and ready to charge head-first into anything.

Protection Warrior(Knight): For those that strive to protect their allies, there is protection. These brave men and women hold a shield and a sword, barricading the path to their friends, absorbing attacks that were directed at them, and making SURE their foes hit him instead of his friends.

Discipline Priest(Monk): Priests don't all devote their lives to spreading the words of their faith. Discipline Priests, as the name suggests, focus on mastery of their body, mind, and soul to power their spells and abilities. Such Priests are extremely disciplined and composed, even during times of duress. Some can be referred to as 'cold' or 'distant' by their companions, but by no means are they apathetic towards the events and actions which shape the world around them. In fact, many such Priests have very strong opinions when it comes to moral (or immoral) matters.
![http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20060930060718/wowwiki/images/b/b4/Spell_holy_holybolt.png](http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20060930060718/wowwiki/images/b/b4/Spell_holy_holybolt.png)
Holy Priest: The classic "Priest" model, Holy Priests bring their unshakable faith and strong convictions everywhere they go. An invisible aura of light seems to surround them. These Priests can take any place in a church's hierarchy. In some cases, they make up the entirety of said hierarchy. Cardinals, fathers, missionaries, Holy Priests are the ones who uphold and spread their faiths amongst society. Not all Holy Priests are devoted to the Light; they can be tribal healers or ceremonial masters in smaller communities, providers of faith to primordial Gods or Goddesses (such as in Kal'dorei society, where Holy Priests uphold their faith to the Moon Goddess, Elune).
![http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20060923203247/wowwiki/images/3/30/Spell_shadow_shadowwordpain.png](http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20060923203247/wowwiki/images/3/30/Spell_shadow_shadowwordpain.png)
Shadow Priest: A select few Priests decide that the ways of regular faith are not for them. These Priests delve into darker, more dangerous magics and worship crueler deities in return for such powers. They can be just as zealous and committed as Holy Priests with their faith, but are generally less open about the true nature of their beliefs (seeing as revealing such information can get Shadow Priests killed by some people - Notably Paladins and Holy Priests). In more tribal cultures, Shadow Priests are usually more accepted - Even valued and respected as necessary parts of the community. Such Priests take the place of Witch Doctors, Hexxers, Alchemists, or the like. Some Troll Loas are considered 'dark' and 'evil' by Human/Dwarven/Gnomish/Civilized society, and therefore Shadow Priests would be their typical worshipers. Note that, just because such Gods are considered evil or cruel, does not mean that their Priests are, at heart, inherently 'bad'. What it DOES mean, however, is that Shadow Priests don't usually have the ability to use Light magics (although some, who worship more neutral deities, may be able to).

Arcane Mage: Some consider these exceptionally intelligent magical analysts to be the only "true" mages, as they study the nature of arcane energy itself. This theoretical study, though painfully dull to overhear at times, makes Arcane mages exceptionally subtle in casting, skilled at disabling other spellcasters, and excellent at timing their damage to match the needs of battle.

Fire Mage: Most Fire Mages are passionate individuals, quick to laugh, and even quicker to anger. This tendency to become angry and lose control is a dangerous trait in a person who is essentially a walking bomb, which leads to some mages embracing the madness and letting it consume them, although there are mages who practice a strict, almost militaristic form of discipline to keep themselves in control at all times. Of course, in the heat of battle, it's not uncommon for the mage to lose control, and woe to their enemy when that happens. There are also numerous physical changes that may come over them. The one first noticed by most people would be the mages hair, which takes on a fiery color of blond or red, and sometimes when the mage channels magic his hair will move like a flickering flame. Other marks include glowing eyes, feverish skin, extreme discomfort in cold or rain, or a faint scent of brimstone constantly surrounding him.

Frost Mage: Among the most intimidating of mages are the cryomancers, masters of water and ice. Often considered aloof "control freaks," cryomancers specialize in protecting themselves with shields of ice and slowing or stopping their enemies in their tracks. The bite of their chilly frost magic can also inflict an unforgettable sort of pain on those who are foolish enough to cross them.

Elemental Shaman: The Elemental Shaman has a very close bond with the Elemental Planes. He/she uses these planes to draw his/her power, summoning the awesome might of the elements to brutalize his/her enemies. Wind, fire, earth, and water - These four basic elements make Elemental Shaman the incredible power they are. Elemental Shaman, as all Shaman, give offerings to the elements and spirits they draw their power from. These can consist of herbs, ritual drinks, or other things found within the natural world. Shaman are not typically found in civilized societies, since their powers come from primal, uncontrolled sources. In Orcish / Troll / Tauren culture, Shaman are conduits to the spirit world, performing spiritual rituals and speaking to the natural world. Some Shaman are loners, preferring to commune with the wilderness rather than companions, while others integrate themselves into culture by becoming keepers of knowledge, sages, seers, or ritualists.
![http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20060923212251/wowwiki/images/b/b1/Spell_nature_earthbindtotem.png](http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20060923212251/wowwiki/images/b/b1/Spell_nature_earthbindtotem.png)
Enhancement Shaman: With the knowledge of the spirits behind their words and the gifts of the elements powering their strikes, Enhancement Shaman are arguably the most primal of the three specializations. Enhancement Shaman use their fury and the spirits' blessings to back their blows, often resorting to a mix of both magical and physical brawn (as opposed to Elemental Shaman, who use their magical abilities rather than physical strength to fight). Enhancement Shaman are the most likely to go off into the wilderness, as they look to a deeper, more primal part of themselves than either Restoration or Elemental Shaman to fight. They still give offerings to the spirits and elements with which they associate, but are less likely to become sages and seers, rather finding their place on the battlefield or training younger warriors.

Restoration Shaman: Many shamans feel a special affinity to the purifying spirits of Water, and are therefore called to seek out and cleanse impurities. These shamans possess an edge over others in the healing arts, and their understanding of "flow" helps them easily replenish spent mana. These shamans are often in high demand from both injury-prone warriors and mana-greedy spellcasters.

Balance Druid: Many druids have a special sensitivity to the natural order, and are capable of defending nature by calling upon nature to punish the offenders. Those specialized in balance seem especially capable of doing this, their spells even more violent or longer in duration. The most ardent supporters of balance may even be rewarded with a new beastly form; that of a moonkin. In addition to a thicker hide than the druid's normal form, it also allows some limited spellcasting ability.

Feral Druid: Some druids prefer exploring the world of animals from the perspective of the animals, and many even prefer the shape, and company, of the creatures in the natural world. There are tales of some night elves who forget about their elven forms for years on end. Many druids who prefer their animal forms often find these stronger and swifter than their natural forms, and may even develop abilities other creatures lack. Indeed, it is often said that the combat abilities of a feral druid in bear form are second only to those of well-trained warriors.

Restoration Druid: Many druids seek to heal the damage that has been done to the natural world and those that live upon it. They are adept at accelerating the natural healing process, even to the point where recovery is nearly instantaneous. Those who specialize in restoration are often considered to be as skilled in healing as most priests.
